Ferguson fought Pimblett with an injured knee

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson revealed that before his last fight he seriously injured his knee.

On December 16 at UFC 296, Ferguson lost by unanimous decision Paddy Pimblett. For the American, who will celebrate his 40th birthday on February 12, this was the seventh defeat in a row.

“Two weeks before Thanksgiving, I screwed up during training and suffered a torn medial collateral ligament. I didn’t tell anyone about it and didn’t remember it until the end of the fight. I trained like no one else, but the pain was quite severe. Three weeks before the fight, I told the guys on my team that nothing had changed.

Last Thursday I had surgery on my leg, and before that I had surgery on my elbow/arm (both were arthroscopy). I decided to heal everything at once. This is behind me and I can do what I do best,” Ferguson wrote on Instagram.
