Pennington chooses opponent for first title defense

Newly crowned UFC champion in the women's bantamweight category Raquel Pennington revealed her immediate plans after defeating Mayra Bueno Silva as part of the UFC 297 tournament, which took place last weekend in Toronto.

According to the American, she expects to fight with the former compatriot belt holder Julianna Pena.

“I’m ready to defend my title against Julianna Pena. This is the fight that makes sense. I've been looking forward to our meeting since 2013 when we were on TUF, and it doesn't matter whether the title is on the line or not. The fight must take place,” Bloody Elbow quotes the American.
