Artur Beterbiev, world light heavyweight champion according to WBC, WBO, IBF, commented on the “atypical result” of his first doping test.
“It has come to my attention that Callum intends to spread misleading information about my WADA testing program for this fight. Let me make things clear. I am a pure athlete. Throughout my amateur and professional career, I have never tested positive for a banned substance and have followed all WADA requirements and protocols in preparation for this fight. Any attempt to prove otherwise through innuendo or speculation is libelous. This behavior goes beyond the scope of unacceptable chatter in combat sports. Callum is already looking for excuses, looking for a way out. See you on Saturday,” Beterbiev said.
It is worth noting that the boxer’s second doping test turned out to be negative.
