Former world champion Paul Malignaggi believes that Ryan Garcia will not be able to win the championship title.
“I don’t think this guy will win the world title. I don't think he really wants to be a fighter. I think he just wants to be famous. The fight with Luke Campbell scared him because I think Garcia was never the same after that. You could see this in his reaction to his difficulties in the fight with Gervonta Davis, when instead of returning to the war, he simply gave up.
I don’t think this guy wants to be in this kind of fight, in this kind of trench warfare, where you have to make a decision whether you want to be a champion or not, when your opponent forces you to stand on your toes and go to a very uncomfortable level. I don't think Garcia wants to be there. He's made a lot of money, he's comfortable being a social media star,” Malignaggi said.
