Agit Kabayel (24-0, 16 KOs) left the European heavyweight title vacant. A tender was scheduled for today to select the organizer of his fight with Tom Schwartz (29-1, 20 KOs), the official challenger for the EBU belt.
Kabayel, a representative of Germany, did not take part in the bidding and refused the European Boxing Union belt, and now Schwartz will fight for this title with another opponent.
Kabayel achieved his greatest success in the professional ring in December, defeating the previously undefeated Arslanbek Makhmudov. The 31-year-old boxer's next fight is scheduled for March.
