Weidman: “I was afraid that my leg would have to be amputated”

Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman spoke about his emotions after a terrible leg fracture received in a fight with Uriah Hall in 2021.

“I sit down and see that my leg is broken in half. I think: “What the fuck? It can’t be my leg.” And then severe pain pierces me. I couldn’t believe it.

The doctors come around and try to move my leg, and I see the bone sticking out under the skin. I asked for pain relief immediately. I was very afraid of this pain because I was thinking about the worst case scenario. And the worst-case scenario is a disruption of the blood supply to the bone, which could mean amputation,” MMA Mania quotes Weidman.
