Covington chooses next opponent after losing to Edwards

Former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington after the third unsuccessful attempt to win a full title, he named the name of his next desired opponent.

“There’s this guy who said a lot of stuff about me. Everyone thinks Stephen Thompson is a good guy. He had a lot to say, so I would have been happy to see him say it to me in the Octagon.

Before my fight, he said that I was going to have a broken jaw. “He was always saying stuff, so I wish he would say it to my face,” Covington said at the UFC 296 post-event press conference.

Let us remember that at the UFC 296 show in Las Vegas, Covington was defeated on points by champion Leon Edwards, and Thompson was “strangled” by Shavkat Rakhmonov.
