Skye Nicolson is an Australian professional boxer and world champion in the featherweight division. Born on August 27, 1995, in Meadowbrook, Queensland, she began boxing at the age of 12. Her interest in the sport was deeply personal—motivated by the legacy of her late brother, Jamie Nicolson, a former Olympic boxer.
Nicolson had a successful amateur career, winning a bronze medal at the 2016 World Championships and a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She also represented Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, reaching the quarterfinals before transitioning to the professional ranks.
She turned professional in 2022 and quickly established herself as a disciplined and technically skilled southpaw. Nicolson captured regional titles early in her pro career, including the Commonwealth and WBC Silver featherweight belts. In 2024, she won the WBC featherweight world title with a unanimous decision victory in Las Vegas, becoming one of Australia’s few world champions to claim a title on U.S. soil.
Known for her movement, timing, and composure in the ring, Nicolson successfully defended her title before suffering her first professional loss in 2025. Despite the setback, she remains one of the most prominent figures in Australian boxing and continues to pursue championship opportunities across multiple weight classes.
