Former middleweight contender Martin Murray (37-4-1, 17 KOs) scored a unanimous decision over Roberto Garcia (41-4, 24 KOs) and took away his WBC silver title in the main event of the evening at O2 arena in London. It was a very dirty fight. In the second and ninth rounds referee Hector Afu deducted points from Garcia. The scores were: 116-111, 118-109 and 118-108.

In a fight for the silver WBC middleweight belt Roberto Garcia (41-3, 24 KOs) won a rather unexpected victory by unanimous decision over Omar Chavez (36-3-1, 24 KOs) in the main event in Mexico's Monterrey. Scores were 97-92 and twice 96-93. In the second round Garcia was deducted one point for constant low blows, but with the exception of 2-3 rounds he looked better than his best opponent with a "rich pedigree". Omar Chavez is the son of the legendary Mexican warrior Julio Cesar Chavez and the brother of former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
