Patrick "Pat" McCormack (born 8 June 1995) is an English boxer from Sunderland who began his ring career in the North East. He took up the sport as a youth and developed through the Birtley Amateur Boxing Club; his amateur foundations were strengthened alongside his brother, Luke McCormack, under regional coaches. McCormack fights from an orthodox stance and competed for England and Great Britain at international level.
As an amateur McCormack built a distinguished résumé: he won welterweight gold for England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, claimed welterweight gold at the 2019 European Games, and earned silver at the 2019 AIBA World Championships. He was a two-time Olympian, representing Great Britain in Rio 2016 and winning the Olympic silver medal in the welterweight division at the Tokyo 2020 Games (held in 2021). These results established him among Britain’s leading amateur welterweights.
McCormack turned professional in March 2022, stopping Justin Menzie on his debut, and later signed with Matchroom Boxing; since turning pro he has continued to rise through the welterweight ranks with victories on prominent UK cards. His professional profile and fight record are tracked on BoxRec and promoted by Matchroom as he aims to transition his amateur success onto the professional world stage.
