Chisora Points to Usyk’s Defining Trait as Key to His Greatness

British heavyweight veteran Derek Chisora said Oleksandr Usyk was the best opponent of his career when asked to name the toughest man he has faced.

For a fighter who has shared the ring with plenty of elite heavyweights, Derek Chisora had no trouble naming the best of the bunch: Oleksandr Usyk.

Chisora said Usyk stands above everyone else he has faced because of one skill in particular — his movement.

“I’ve fought a lot of top boxers, but the first among them all is Oleksandr,” Chisora said. “What made him the best in the world? It’s his ability to move. Movement, movement — he’s always moving. That’s how he beats you. We train to punch hard, not to move. But Usyk can punch well and get away from your shots too. I realized very quickly that he was going to become a superstar.”
