Daniel Cormier, former UFC champion in two weight classes, reacted to the news that Jon Jones might fight Alex Pereira after his fight with Stipe Miocic.

"Not everybody punches like Francis Ngannou or Alex Pereira, but it's a lot less risky than fighting a guy with a full skill set. That's exactly the kind of guy Tom Aspinall looks like. I like the way John is smartly looking for the right fight for himself, but I don't know if it will work. Alex says, 'Jiri Prochazka is next - Ancalaev will have to wait'. That's clever! Alex, why would you want to fight Ancalaev? He'll try to beat you. Go fight the dude you already knocked out again! Athletes today are a lot smarter than they used to be, and I think that makes the sport even more interesting. I like that. I like what John is doing, and I like what Alex is doing. John's choice is obvious - I'm not fighting Tom Aspinall!".

Jon Jones, the reigning UFC heavyweight champion, spoke to a fight fan on social media about Tom Aspinall, the promotion's interim champion in the division.

Fan: "Tom is literally the interim UFC heavyweight champion."

Jones: "From my perspective, he's more of a number one contender after Stipe."

Aspinall didn't have anything to say in response, only adding a photo on social media of the moment he asks Jones about their fight.

Reigning UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has not ruled out that after his fight with Miocic, he will meet light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira in the octagon. The Brazilian has accepted the challenge, and is ready to fight "Bones."

"We are both professionals. I have nothing against John, I have nothing but respect for him. We're both trying to accomplish something. I feel like we would be able to give the fans an exciting fight. If it does happen, it would be fantastic. We have fans that want it. We have athletes who want it. We have the organization to make it happen. Yes, there are other athletes in the division that need to move on, so we need to look at the best way to do it. If the UFC gives us the green light and they show interest, we can make it happen. It would be a real war. It would be a very entertaining show for the fans...," Yahoo Sports quoted Pereira as saying.

UFC heavyweight championJon Jones has spoken out about a possible fight with the organization's bantamweight champion Alex Pereira.

"A fight with Pereira after the Stipe Miocic fight could be the next big step that could be taken. This killer has already defeated so many champions, he's already a legend to millions of people. My fight with him is the biggest thing the UFC can do. Give Alex a chance to avenge all those great Brazilian champions I defeated," Jones wrote on social media.

Recall that Jones recently trained for the first time after a long recovery from an injury he suffered in preparation for his fight with Stipe Miocic.

Dana White, CEO of the UFC, first commented on the incident with the attack of the promotion's heavyweight champion Jon Jones on an employee of the anti-doping agency Drug Free Sport. Dana noted that "Bones" is always getting into some unpleasant situations.

"There's always something going on with him and he's always getting into trouble. Doping agents can come to your house or anywhere and they need to know where you are. The agent showed up and said he threatened her. Then NBC News said Jones was arrested," - reports the words of White Club Random.

Recall, not so long ago, Jones reported that he held the first training session after a serious injury and recovery.
