Cormier Wants to Bring American Wrestlers into MMA

“American wrestlers are not as open to fighting as we need them to be. But I have a plan. I'm getting American wrestlers into martial arts. I love these guys—I love Khabib, I love Islam. They are the best. But I want to see American wrestlers as champions. I think they are the only group of people capable of bringing the titles back. Currently, the champions are wrestlers from Eastern Europe, very few strikers. Champions are wrestlers. We need to get our wrestlers back into mixed martial arts,” Cormier said.
