The former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping shared his thoughts on scheduling the fight for the vacant lightweight title between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett.
Yesterday it was officially announced that the American and the Brit will meet in the main event of UFC 324, which will take place on January 25 in Las Vegas.
"Do you really think Arman Tsarukyan should have gotten this fight? I think not. Paddy and Justin were already in focus for a while, while Arman remained somewhat on the sidelines.
I really thought Paddy was the main contender. Undoubtedly, after he entered the octagon when Ilia Topuria knocked out Charles Oliveira. They had a skirmish, Ilia with two belts pushed Paddy, it was a bit of an awkward moment. It seemed like this fight was destined. I hope they will fight in the future because the background is already set, but on paper, it is a very, very tough and competitive bout,” Bisping is quoted by BJ Penn.
