Poirier gave a prediction for the Della Maddalena - Makhachev fight

Dustin Poirier, a former interim UFC lightweight champion, shared his thoughts on the upcoming Della Maddalena - Makhachev fight.

ā€œIslam is a big guy. He hasn't had to spend years bulking up to make the transition to the next weight class. He is a guy who has managed his body weight to fit the lightweight limit. I think Makhachev in a title fight will look like a real welterweight.

And the outcome of the fight will depend on Islam's ability to land takedowns and control Jack. If Della Maddalena can keep getting up and scramble, then heā€™ll give Islam a lot of trouble with his boxing,ā€ MMA Fighting quotes Poirier as saying.
