Murphy: "A victory over Pico will make me the top contender for the title"

Top British UFC featherweight Lerone Murphy shared his expectations for the upcoming fight against American Aaron Pico, which will take place on the night of August 17 at UFC 319 in Chicago, USA.

"The fact that his name is not yet in the rankings means nothing. Everyone knows what level he is at, and his name is loud, so I perceive him as a fighter from the top 3 or so.

A victory over Pico will secure me the No. 1 contender status. Aaron was supposed to fight Movsar, but that one got injured or got sick, and I replaced him, and it’s still a contender fight," Murphy stated at the press conference.
