Della Maddalena spoke about the unsuccessful start of his professional career

Jack Della Maddalena, UFC champion in the welterweight division, talked about not the best start of his professional career.

“It was tough. Both losses were to tough guys. I didn’t have a big amateur career, two amateur fights, two wins. Back then, MMA wasn’t that big, I immediately faced tough opponents. And I learned a lot.

I still love MMA, I still love to compete, but after the second loss I was down and thought: “Is this really what I want to do?”. My coach said: “Don’t let this affect you. You are much better. Those were tough fights,” said Maddalena in an interview with West Sport.
