Former UFC bantamweight champion Alex Pereira commented on the information that he went into his bout with Magomed Ankalaev with a fractured hand.

On March 9 at UFC 313, the Brazilian lost to the Dagestani by unanimous decision of the judges and forfeited the title.

"I'm not trying to downplay Ancalaev's merits. A lot of people try to do something like that, but I'm not that kind of person. Everybody has problems, and I'm sure he had them too. Yes, I had my difficulties - my arm is fine now - but it did have an impact. But I don't want to use that as an excuse. My moment will come, and when I win the belt again, then I'll talk about everything. Yes, I thought about dropping the fight. It was one of the most difficult training camps because of everything that happened," Pereira told Ariel Helwani.
