Cormier: "Two fights in a row we've seen Pereira lose"

Former UFC champion in two weight classes Daniel Cormier shared his impressions of the fight between Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev.

"Guys, for two fights in a row now we've seen Poatan lose. And in the fight with Ancalaev, he couldn't come back. To be honest, Pereira only threw a few dangerous punches. In the fifth round he got a good kick to the head, but for most of the fight he was under a lot of pressure from Magomed, who is capable of throwing worthwhile punches - maybe not very hard, but damaging.
.

Ankalaev also gave a very competitive fight with his legs. I think the reason why he was able to fight him so well on the feet is because he has that threat of tekdown and going to the wrestling, and when you have that threat of wrestling, you're a lot harder to deal with," MMA Junkie quoted Cormier as saying.

Recall that Ancalaev defeated Pereira on points last weekend to become the new UFC bantamweight champion.
