Former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Porier said he would like his farewell fight to be held in New Orleans this summer.
"Every week I'm on the phone with the UFC. Most likely I'll have a farewell fight in New Orleans in the summer. A numbered tournament in New Orleans would be awesome. I'm pushing for it, the UFC is working on it. I hope it works out. I'm from Louisiana, and to finish my career in my home state would be an honor," Puryear said in an interview with The Schmo.
Recall that Puryear has not stepped into the octagon since last June, when he lost an early decision to Islam Makhachev.
