Irish PFL lightweight Paul Hughes shared his emotions after losing to Usman Nurmagomedov in the main event of the PFL Champions Series 1 tournament in Dubai, UAE.

"It went exactly as I expected. I'm very disappointed. I thought I had won ... I should have pressed him harder. We'll fight again, that's for sure. I wish I hadn't used up all my energy. I won't make that mistake next time. I knew I could take him on. I had a chance to knock him out, I believed in my victory.

It was nice to see the full stands. The PFL believed me, I'm looking forward to what I will be offered in the future. My opinion is the PFL should be brought to Belfast. If we do fight Usman again, it should be in Ireland that it should be repeated. I believe I deserve it," stated Hughes.

Recall that Hughes lost to Nurmagomedov by majority decision.
