UFC flyweight champion Merab Dvalishvili spoke about the conflict with his title challenger Umar Nurmagomedov.
The Georgian and the Dagestani will fight on the night of January 19 in the main event of UFC 311 in Los Angeles, USA.
"I don't necessarily hate Umar. But there have been so many moments of disrespect from him. He called me a fake champion, and I'm not a fake champion! He used some expression against me, and he said it was a Georgian phrase, but it's not a Georgian expression! He mentioned my country! He has no respect for me.
When we met before the conference last time, I asked him: "Why are you disrespecting me on social media?" And he replied, "Because I want to, and what can you do about it?" And then you saw already in 10 minutes when he was saying in front of everybody that he never disrespected me or my country, that's why I was so angry and I wanted to kill this guy because I'm real," MMA Mania quoted Dvalishvili as saying.
