Coach Dvalishvili: "We really believe Merab is capable of beating Nurmagomedov in the standup"

UFC flyweight champion Merab Dvalishvili's trainer John Wood has spoken out about his charge's upcoming fight against Umar Nurmagomedov.

The Georgian and the Dagestani will fight on January 18 at UFC 311 in Los Angeles, USA.

"Merab is getting better every day. It's noticeable from his last fights. He still acts like a psycho and crazy sometimes, but now we're learning to keep that under control and use that energy wisely.

Right now Merab is better in the standup than he's ever been. We really believe that Merab is capable of winning in the standup. We are capable of defending in the parterre and outboxing Umar on the feet," Wood told Kevin Ayoola.
