Legendary referee George McCarthy is ready to return to work for the UFC as an expert commentator.
"I don't know if the UFC would want that, but I'm being honest - it's what they need. They too often have commentators who aren't sure what's going on or how to interpret a situation, but it's not their fault. The job of UFC commentators is to explain the ins and outs of a fight to the fans. They shouldn't be expected to know all the rules and mechanics of the referee's job - they can't do that because they don't have the proper qualifications. I'm not saying they need me specifically, but they clearly need someone to explain to fans the situations when time is stopped and a foul has occurred. He needs to give the right information about what's going on and what the options are for resolution"
