Buckley believes he's closer to a title fight than Rakhmonov

UFC welterweight prospect Joaquin Buckley believes he's edging out undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov in the title race.

"I feel like I'm bypassing Shawkat in the title race right now. This guy gets injured a lot, something always happens to him, so he might not even take the fight with the champion. In the end this chance will be given to me and I will fight Belal Muhammad next year.

First of all the result should speak for me. I can't go out and win by split decision of the judges. I don't need that. But if I go out there and do what I can do, which is to get a knockout, then I can get the right to challenge for the title," Bloody Elbow quoted Buckley as saying.
