Famous Ukrainian boxer Taras Shelestyuk believes that Artur Beterbiev was fairly given the victory in the fight against Dmitry Bivol.
"The fight was very even, but Beterbiev won it because he took out the last three championship rounds, which is very important. Bivol also had a good fight, but he threw a lot of punches in defense. The difference in the strength of the boxers was felt.
When Beterbiev started working the body, I think it slowed Bivol down and he wasn't enough for the last three rounds. He just bickered and didn't show the championship character to pull this fight out. He only had one title, the WBA title. And Beterbiev had three titles. To take three titles, you have to do even more than your opponent, which Dmitry Bivol did not show," said Shelestyuk on his YouTube channel.
Recall that on October 12, Beterbiev defeated Bivol by majority decision (114-114, 115-113, 116-112) in the main event of the evening of boxing in Riyadh and became the absolute world champion in the light heavyweight division.
