Former ONE and Bellator champion Ben Askren has been critical of top mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor.
"It's pretty obvious to me that Conor is an addict. But he's rich enough, so it doesn't affect his life in such a negative way. Everyone just lets him do what he wants to do. But this guy is clearly partying, he can't show up to training camp.
And then because he can't report to training camp, he can't prepare for the fight. There are videos of him hanging out all the time. And look, if you're rich and famous and you're not killing anybody or something worse that you're going to go to jail for, then let it go. Go live your life. Recall that the 36-year-old McGregor has not appeared in the octagon since the defeat of Dustin Puryear in July 2021.
