O'Malley: "I can beat Conor at his current conditioning"

UFC lightweight champion Sean O'Malley has spoken out about a potential fight with the promotion's top star Conor McGregor.

"This is the kind of fight that falls under the category of big fights, and I wouldn't mind it. I don't call out the big guys at lightweight or welterweight because I know my role. I compete in the lightweight division, but I really think I can beat Conor at his current conditioning. I'm just speaking openly. Just speaking the truth. I believe I can beat Conor McGregor. When your idols turn into rivals, it's incredibly cool. But right now I'm not a big fan of Conor," O'Malley said in an interview with ESPN MMA.

Recall that on September 16 at UFC 306 in Las Vegas, USA, O'Malley will defend his belt against the encroachments of Merab Dvalishvili.
