UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis said he wouldn't mind making his next belt defense against Alex Pereira if it's the will of the promotion.
"If the matchmakers want to put me together with Pereira, I'll be ready. However, right now this fight is not really important to me. I believe that in order to be considered the greatest fighter in MMA history, I should be the best middleweight fighter first. I was able to become the first to have wins over Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker. I have wins over three pound-for-pound ranked fighters. Give me the opportunity to return to the top-10 of this rating," - quotes Du Plessis Sherdog.
Du Plessis defended his title for the first time last weekend, defeating Israel Adesanya by choke in the fourth round. The fight headlined the UFC 305 event in Perth, Australia.
