Former UFC flyweight title challenger Marlon Vera made the first statement following his bout with former lower division belt holder Davison Figueredo.
The Ecuadorian lost to the Brazilian on points at UFC on ABC 7, which took place Aug. 3 in Abu Dhabi.
"I failed today. Thank you to my family, my team and my people who push me to keep going, maybe this time I will come back very fast but that's life, sometimes it takes time for the mind and body to recover! Thanks again to those I have," Marlon wrote on social media X.
