Sterling: "UFC had no reason to kick Mokaev out"
Former UFC flyweight champion Aljamain Sterling has spoken out about the promotion's decision not to renew the contract of undefeated flyweight fighter Muhammad Mokaev.
"I think it's nonsense. There was no reason to kick him out. You could say that Mokayev was himself to blame. But fights always involve two people. He and Kape quarreled, they were hitting on each other even in the mosque. Now it's at the hotel. Although it's really weird to pretend you want to take a picture with a person and then sneakily punch them.
I think it's low. What Mokaev did was dirty. But the fight happened, and Kape was fighting with an injury. And they say Mokaev was warned to stay out of the fight so much. But against Kape, he didn't go to the feet that often. It was a good fight, but the attention was diverted by their conflict," Sterling said.
