Strickland explained his reluctance to fight Whittaker

Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland explained why he is not interested in making a fight with another former titleholder Robert Whittaker at this time.

"I beat Adesanya, and the whole world realizes I beat Du Plessis. And Whittaker lost to both of them. I'm the number one contender and I easily defended that title in the fight with Costa. Now I'll just wait for the title fight," wrote the American in social network X.

Recall that Strickland defeated Costa by split decision of judges on June 1 at UFC 302 in Newark, USA.
