Legendary referee John McCarthy named a trait in UFC champion Islam Makhachev's fighting style that appeals to him.
"One of the things I really admire about Islam Makhachev is that he doesn't just take a takedown and control his opponent on the ground. He's always trying to do a sub-move, do a submission hold to end the fight early. That's what we want to see a fighter do," McCarthy told Weighing In.
Recall that on June 1 in the main event of UFC 302 in Newark, USA, Makhachev defeated Dustin Porier with a choke hold.
