UFC lightweight division number one Arman Tsarukyan revealed when his bout with champion Islam Makhachev could take place.
"Our fight has not been confirmed yet. I think the UFC wants to wait until the fight between Edwards and Muhammad takes place. And after that they will decide where and when our fight will take place.
Right now, the UFC has a problem with the main event fight in Abu Dhabi in October. If Chimaev beats Whittaker, he can headline the Abu Dhabi tournament and Makhachev and I will fight in New York at Madison Square Garden in November. If Hamzat loses, we will probably fight in October. Because the promotion needs a Muslim fighter in Abu Dhabi," Tsarukyan said on The MMA Hour show.
Recall that Makhachev and Tsarukyan have already met in the octagon. Their first fight took place in April 2019 and ended with the victory of Islam by unanimous decision.
