American mixed martial arts veteran Daniel Cormier believes that former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Porier will not retire from the sport after losing to full titleholder Islam Makhachev.

Last weekend at UFC 302, the American lost to the Dagestani by choke in the fifth round. In a post-fight interview, Dustin admitted that this fight could have been the last of his career.

"A big part of it is knowing that the end hasn't come yet. I think what he's doing is also telling you, 'It's going to cost you a lot to get me back.' If you want me back, you're going to have to pay me.' He can't go from making money fighting Conor McGregor and Islam Makhachev to something he doesn't think is worth his time. I believe we will see Dustin Porier again," Cormier stated on his YouTube channel.
