Leon Edwards, UFC welterweight champion, said he is ready to fight the organization's lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
"I welcome it. When we're both ready for it - why not? Islam just made his first defense against a real lightweight. He's got a couple more fights to go in his division. But like I said, when we're ready - why not? We're about the same age, just over 30. I'd like that fight. It's a massive fight. First I want to clean up my division and then already see what's next," Edwards said in an interview with Sky Sports.
Recall, on July 27 in Manchester, Edwards will hold a fight against Belal Muhammad.
