Edwards told when he would be ready to fight Makhachev

Leon Edwards, the UFC welterweight champion, said he is ready to fight the organization's lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.

"I welcome that. When we're both ready for it - why not? Islam just made his first defense against a real lightweight. He needs to have a couple more fights in his division. But like I said, when we're ready - why not? We're about the same age, just over 30. I'd like that fight. It's a massive fight. First I want to clean up my division and then already see what's next," Edwards said in an interview with Sky Sports.

Recall, on July 27 in Manchester, Edwards will hold a fight against Belal Muhammad.
