Puryear is out for the fight against Makhachev with an injury

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Porier injured his ribs two weeks before his fight against full titleholder Islam Makhachev. This was revealed by the American's American Top Team gym partner Yves Edwards.

"Porier performed on Saturday at a very impressive level. I know that Makhachev wasn't 100% ready either, nobody goes into the fight fully healthy. But Dustin injured his ribs two weeks before the fight, so he was not able to practice fighting for 2-2.5 weeks. That's why he performed quite well. To fight such a dangerous opponent with a rib injury is worthy of respect," - quotes Edwards MMA Today.

Recall that last weekend Porier lost to Makhachev by choke hold in the fifth round. The fight was the main event of the tournament UFC 302 in Newark, USA.
