Makhachev's team dreams of a fight with McGregor

Javier Mendes, one of the coaches of UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, admitted that their team dreams of getting a bout with star former two-weight titleholder Conor McGregor.

"Conor talks a lot and gossips a lot about Islam. There is an upside to that because Conor is either adored or hated. Either way, everyone wants to see a fight with him.

Personally, I'd like to see Islam beat him. There is no better fight for Khabib and I," Mendes said in an interview with Red Corner MMA.

Makhachev defended his title for the third time last weekend, defeating Dustin Puryear by choke in the main event of UFC 302.
