Former UFC middleweight champion American Scandal's Shawn Strickland has explained why he turned down an offer to fight against Hamzat Chimaev in Saudi Arabia.
"A fight with Chimayev? No, I wouldn't go to Saudi Arabia. Hanging out with the guys in a burka, come on. All these outfits, no bikinis and stuff - it's not my place," - quotes Strickland Shak MMA.
Recall that on the night of June 2 at UFC 302 in Newark, USA, Strickland will share the octagon with Paulo Costa. As for Chimaev, he will compete against Robert Whittaker on June 22 in Riyadh.
