Du Plessis plans to win the bantamweight title

UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis has spoken about his future career plans.

The South African fighter intends to make title defenses against Israel Adesanya and Hamzat Chimaev, and then challenge the champion in the welterweight division.

"I believe that by beating Adesanya, by beating Chimaev, if Hamzat beats Whittaker, I will earn the right to a flyweight title fight. A win over the boogeyman Hamzat, who everyone fears, as well as the division's greatest fighters, Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker, is reason enough to claim a second title. My next fight will most likely be against Israel Adesanya and I'm fully focused on that," MMA Mania quoted Du Plessis as saying.

According to the latest information, Du Plessis and Adesanya's fight will take place on August 17 at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia.
