Makhachev's coach: "I don't see Holloway as a big threat to Islam"

AKA Hall of Famer Javier Mendes believes that UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway would have no chance in a potential fight with his charge Islam Makhachev, the promotion's lightweight division belt holder.

"It's all about the fight plan and strategy. Justin Gaethje didn't utilize wrestling against Holloway. And Islam will not spend the fight in the stand-up for all five rounds - he will put Holloway on the ground and work in the parterre. So Max will find himself in a hopeless situation.

Holloway has poor wrestling defense. I don't see Max as a big threat to Makhachev. At least until Holloway proves otherwise," the specialist said in an interview with Submission Radio.

Recall that on June 1 in the main event of UFC 302 in Newark, USA, Makhachev will defend the title against the encroachments of Dustin Porier.
