Pereira is ready to fight for the UFC heavyweight championship belt at the next tournament.

Alex Pereira, the UFC bantamweight champion, said he is ready to compete in the heavyweight division as soon as the promotion's next tournament.

"I didn't have any injuries. I want to fight in Brazil. I know there's not much time left, but we'll see what happens...I know the promotion needs a title fight, but I don't care about that, just let me have a heavyweight fight (at UFC 301)," the Brazilian fighter said.

Today in the main event of UFC 300, Alex Pereira successfully defended the promotion's bantamweight championship belt with a first-round knockout win over Jamal Hill, the organization's former bantamweight champion.
