Famed American MMA referee John McCarthy has spoken out about the upcoming fight between former interim UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje and former undercard titleholder Max Holloway.
Their bout will take place on the night of April 14 at UFC 300 in Las Vegas, USA.
"Holloway is the worst opponent for Gaethje. Let's go back a couple fights. Look at Justin's meeting with Rafael Fisieff. That was the best version of Justin Gaethje in terms of fighting I've ever seen. In the Dustin Porier fight, he kept that style and now Justin doesn't take as much damage in the fight as he used to.
He needs to continue to be the fighter he was in his previous fights. But if Max fights with the same style as he did against Kelvin Kattar, he will beat Gaethje. He has the necessary skills to get the upper hand over Justin," BJ Penn quoted McCarthy as saying.
