UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev did not get past the criticism from former titleholder Max Holloway. Earlier, the American rebuked the Dagestani for "fighting when it suits him" while complaining about the lack of opponents.
"On a side note, I've fought seven times since 2021, while Holloway has had five fights and Gaethje only four. So study the matchmaking before you pour dirt on the champion," - wrote Makhachev in social network X.
Recall that Makhachev had three fights in 2021 and two each in 2022 and 2023. He is expected to return to the octagon in June.
