Ukrainian unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has, for the first time, commented in detail on the end of his long-standing partnership with promoter Oleksandr Krasyuk and K2 Promotions.
Earlier in June last year, it was Krasyuk who publicly announced the cessation of cooperation that lasted exactly 12 years, starting from the beginning of Usyk's professional career after the 2012 Olympics. The news appeared just weeks before the rematch with Daniel Dubois, sparking a lot of speculation within the boxing community.
Usyk himself presented the situation in a positive light:
“It was not a complete break in relations. I am currently actively developing my business — the brand USYK 17. Oleksandr Krasyuk is currently working at this company. We just no longer work together in boxing, but he is helping me in another direction. We worked together for 12 years and achieved a lot — these were incredible achievements. I am grateful for all this time.”
Let's remember that Usyk has not entered the ring since his early victory over Dubois in July last year.
