British heavyweight Fabio Wardley, who holds the WBO belt, continues to confidently assert himself as the man capable of ending the phenomenal winning streak of division champion Oleksandr Usyk.
The 31-year-old boxer is convinced: it is his unconventional style and destructive power that could be the very "trigger" that Joshua, Fury, Dubois, and other British heavyweights lacked.
"Boxing is rhythm; it's almost like a dance: step forward—step backward, all according to certain rules. Then I come along—a guy with a completely unorthodox style and similarly unconventional background. I break this rhythm. With Usyk, it's hard to say that you will show him something completely new, but I can throw him off his usual course. Add my powerful right hand and great endurance—this is my real chance."
According to the Brit, even if the fight goes into the later rounds, Usyk will definitely feel the difference:
"One way or another, Oleksandr will understand that he was in a real, tough fight. I'm not just going to hold on—I'm coming to win."
It should be noted that Wardley became the full WBO champion after Usyk voluntarily relinquished the belt. Wardley himself, following a stunning knockout victory over Joseph Parker in October last year, has repeatedly named Usyk as his main target.
