'We are very close to making it happen. It's a real blockbuster in heavyweight – two of the biggest names currently in the division,' Sauerland said in an interview with Sky Sports.
The promoter noted that both fighters have managed to face nearly all legends of the division over the past ten years – from Vitali Klitschko to Tyson Fury. Their records are filled with historic fights, and Chisora especially evokes nostalgia among the British audience.
'If you remember whom Dereck has fought... it's just incredible. I can't even begin to count how many world champions he has faced. When Chisora steps onto the big stage – it never gets boring. Many of his fights have already become classics,' added Sauerland.
The promoter placed particular emphasis on the emotional aspect: for the 42-year-old Chisora, this fight could be his 50th and possibly last in his professional career. Wilder, after a series of defeats and ambiguous performances, sees this fight as a chance to regain his past power and status as one of the most dangerous knockout artists on the planet.
It's worth noting that while there has been no official announcement yet, negotiations are in the final stages.
