The fight between Derek Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) and Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) is already considered a done deal, with only the contract signing and official announcement pending. The fight is expected to take place on April 4 at the O2 Arena in London. However, the biggest surprise so far is that Frank Warren will not be involved in organizing this event.
"I am no longer associated with the Queensberry group. Our contract expired two months after the last fight with Otto Wallin," Chisora stated.
Thus, Shelly Finkel, who has represented Wilder's interests for many years, is negotiating not with Warren, but with the brothers Kalle and Nisse Sauerland. They are the heirs of Sauerland Event, having transformed it into Wasserman Boxing. Finkel is finalizing the details of the event and main fight agreement with Kalle Sauerland.
As part of this boxing evening, a fight featuring Viddal Riley (13-0, 7 KOs) is also planned, as the European Boxing Union (EBU) has appointed him the mandatory challenger for Mateusz Masternak and his European cruiserweight champion title.
The event broadcast will be on Sky Sports as a pay-per-view (PPV).
