German WBC interim heavyweight champion Agit Kabayel, after a confident victory over Damian Kneeb, openly declared his desire to have a full title fight with Oleksandr Usyk, who holds the WBC, WBA, and IBF belts. The 31-year-old boxer from Germany believes he has already proven his readiness for the highest level.
Croatian Filip Hrgović, who watched the fight closely, gave a rather restrained assessment of Kabayel's prospects in a confrontation with Usyk. "Kabayel is indeed a tough opponent for any guy in the division. But Usyk is a completely different class," said Hrgović, effectively drawing a very tangible hierarchical line between them.
At the same time, Filip does not hide that he would gladly see himself in the contender's place. When asked about a possible fight with the Ukrainian champion, the Croatian answered very confidently: "Usyk? Of course, I would like this fight. I am sure I will beat anyone. Big guy, lots of punches, strong chin—it's enough to beat even him."
Let's recall that Usyk himself plans to fight Deontay Wilder in the spring.
